Surgerize collects only your account details, an optional profile photo and your purchase records, and we never sell or rent them.
This policy applies to the Surgerize app for iOS, the Surgerize app for Android, and the website SGRPublicationsLLC.com (together, "Surgerize"). Surgerize is operated by SGR Publications, LLC ("we", "us"), which is responsible for the information described here.
• Name, email address and password (required). We use these to create your account, sign you in, and keep your purchased access tied to you rather than to one device.
• Profile photo (optional). If you add one, it is shown on your profile inside the app.
• Purchase records. When you buy a category, we store the category, the store transaction ID and the access expiry date, so we can give you access and restore it when you sign in on another device.
• Messages you send us. If you contact us, we keep your message and email address to respond to you.
Device permissions. On iOS and Android, Surgerize asks for camera or photo library access only when you choose to add a profile photo, and uses only the photo you pick. You can decline or later turn this off in your device settings, and every other part of the app still works. Surgerize does not request access to your location, contacts, microphone or other device data.
What we do not collect. We do not collect credit card numbers or other payment card details. We do not collect your location. We do not use your information for advertising or to track you across other companies' apps and websites.
All purchases are made through the Apple App Store or Google Play, and Apple or Google charges you. We never receive your card number or payment details.
• Each purchase gives you access to one category for a fixed period.
• Purchases are one-time and do not renew automatically. When access expires, you can buy that category again.
• We store your account, the category you bought, the store transaction and the expiry date, so your access follows you when you sign in on another device.
• Apple and Google handle payment, receipts and refunds under their own terms. To ask for a refund, use Apple's refund page or Google Play's refund page.
• To create and run your account and sign you in.
• To grant, check and restore your category access.
• To reply when you contact us.
• To email you occasionally about new content or changes to this policy. You can opt out of these emails at any time.
We do not sell or rent your account or purchase records to anyone. We share them only:
• With Apple or Google, to complete and verify your purchase.
• With the service provider that hosts and runs Surgerize accounts for us, which may use the data only to provide that service and must protect it with the same care we do.
• When the law requires it, such as in response to a valid legal request.
Your profile photo is used only inside the Surgerize app.
At any time, you can email info@sgrpublicationsllc.com to:
• See what data we hold about you.
• Correct any data that is wrong.
• Delete your account and the data tied to it.
• Stop marketing emails from us.
• Raise any concern about how we use your data.
Deleting your account ends access to any categories still within their access period. Your purchase history with Apple or Google stays with them under their own policies.
You can delete your Surgerize account and its data in either of two ways:
1. In the app: open [Profile > Settings > Delete Account] and confirm.
2. Without the app: email info@sgrpublicationsllc.com from the email address on your account, with the subject "Delete my Surgerize account". You do not need to reinstall the app.
We will confirm by email once your request is received. Deleting the app from your phone does not delete your account.
When your account is deleted, we remove your name, email address, password, profile photo and category access. Basic transaction records may be kept as described below.
We keep your account and purchase records while your account is active. When you delete your account, we delete your account details and profile photo within 30 days. We may keep basic transaction records longer where tax or accounting law requires it.
We take reasonable steps to protect your information. Data travels between the app and our servers over encrypted connections, and only staff who need it to support you can access it. No system is perfectly secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Surgerize is built for medical students and surgical trainees and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children. If you believe a child has given us information, contact us and we will delete it.
When we change this policy, we update the effective date at the top. For significant changes, we will also tell you in the app or by email.
If you feel we are not following this policy, contact us right away.
